Legally parking

Legally parking

Okay, so my job isn’t all that fancy and high profile like say…a crime scene investigator (CSI:whatever next big metropolitan area).  But I’m damn good at what I do, and I do it well.  I’ve worked my way up for the last 7 years and now sit inside a comfy office where I sip on coffee while examining my spreadsheets and financials.  Yes, I even have a few office decor that fits my taste in terms of interests and hobbies.  (remind me to blog about my office once I’m done decorating)

But one thing about my job is that while it might seem fairly boring to the average person, I try my best to do my best while at it.  Getting back to that crime scene investigator.  What if you can’t cut it as a CSI officer?  Well, if you’re like this one guy, you become a Parking Enforcement officer!  Yes, Mister PEI (that’s Parking Enforcement Investigator) must have been busy last night fighting one of the most common forms of injustice that this city is known for:  illegally parking.  So much to my surprise this morning, I’m walking out to my car when I notice this sticking out of my doorjam.  I’m used to people leaving notes on my car, but this one really took the cake!

A closer look reveals that it is indeed a parking ticket.

Upon closer inspection, it turns out that Mr. PEI officer either has really poor eyesight or lack the common sense to realize that he placed the ticket right next to my annual overnight parking sticker! Now I don’t know what they teach in the police academy, but I’d like to believe that there’s a certain standard that officers have to meet.  Being a Parking Enforcement officer might not be the top of the ladder in terms of Law Enforcement, but I would think that a person would at least be more proficient in their position no matter how mundane and lackluster it may be.

So yea, I’m going to fight this parking ticket with these photos as evidence.  That’s a hard earned $20 that I’ve worked hard for, in a job that pride myself in doing no matter how boring.
